Glorene R Haney, retired registered nurse, died Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Glorene graduated from Wesley School of Nursing in 1946 and also from WSU in 1971. Teaching student nursing was a meaningful part of her life, retiring in 1995. Survivors: husband, Philip Haney; brother, Leonard (Helen) Schwarm of Pratt, KS; nephews, Mark Schwarm and Steve Schwarm.

-Funeral services for Mollie A Brickman, 69, who died Thursday night at the Harper County Community Hospital at Buffalo, will be 2:30 pm Saturday at the Alva Friends Church with Rev John Retherford, pastor officiating. Interment will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Wharton Funeral Chapel.
-She was born Nov 3, 1903 near Waynoka and graduated from rural school near Dacoma. She attended Northwestern State Normal College.
-Miss Eggleston and William Brickman were united in marriage Feb 18, 1925 at Alva. Mr and Mrs Brickman made their home on a farm 4 1/2 miles west of Alva.
-Mrs Brickman was a member of the Alva Friends Church.
-Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Towanda and Wesley mallory; two granddaughters, Barbara and Charlene, all of Selman; two sisters, Mrs William (Edith) Schwarm, Greensburg, Kans; Mrs Vye O'Neil [sic], Montobello, Calif; three brothers, Elithalet [sic] and William Eggleston of Chickasha; Ted Eggleston of Waynoka.
-Casketbearers will be Hutson Cummings, Jim Gatz, Mauntel Johnson, Orin Lancaster, Dale and Orville Ritter.
-Memorial contributions may be made to the music department at Northwestern State College or the Oklahoma Medical Foundation for Cancer Research with Wharton Funeral Chapel as custodian.
