This photograph is of their oldest child, son Conda J Berry and their oldest daughter, baby Veda Berry. Both were born in Oklahoma Territory, he in 1905 in Pawnee County, OT and Veda in 1906 at Pond Creek, Grant Co, OT. Conda died when he was almost 11 years old, in a farm accident. As an adult, Veda was a teacher in northwest Oklahoma towns until she married Eliphalet "Lafe" Eggleston in 1936.

The third child of Oat and Alta was Vera Berry. Vera also taught school in northwest Oklahoma for a while, but then began working various places in nearby Kansas and Alva, Oklahoma. She married Charlie Calvin Craven in 1949 and they began to travel the world since he was military. Vera and Charlie celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in 1975, back in Oklahoma.

Merlin Berry is the fourth child born to Alta and Oat. He married Leah Titus in Oklahoma and worked as a baker. They moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where Merlin worked at the Air Force Academy as a baker. He lived there the rest of his life.

The last child - and baby of the family - is Marie Berry. Her mother called her Marie, her dad called her Marie, the rest of the family called her Babe. She kept that name all through high school as noted in newspaper tidbits and high school yearbooks. She chose the name Margie for herself at some point.

These, then, are the surviving children of Oat and Alta Berry: Vera and Veda, Margie and Merlin.
