I like to learn something new every day

Today I solved a problem.

I have been trying, for some time now, to remove the permanent list of labels in the area of Blogger where postings are created.  The list was long and cumbersome and no longer useful.

I looked online for help and found that some Blogspot bloggers had determined that the only way to remove a label from the list was to rename it - a tedious and time-consuming task.

I accidentally discovered a faster, easier way - just now.

I pulled up a previous post.  On the composing or editing page for a posting, I clicked on the label tag to the right of the typing pane.  I deleted the labels in the add-or-remove box; clicked on Done, and Update.  I kept pulling up posts and deleting the labels I had added to that post.  I finally noticed that the permanent list was getting shorter.  As I no longer was using a label - such as Antiques - it was being removed from the permanent list.  Hooray!  They were soon all gone.

I imagine it could be even faster if I had pulled up all posts in that label and edited them at once, but as I say, it took me a while to realize what was going on.

Now I can have a cup of tea and celebrate the new-found knowledge . . .
