ᕗI haven't thoroughly researched all of these children.  Just some of them.  You can see that the first child is shown as an Egleston.  I have corresponded with his descendants - I even have a picture of them at a reunion - and that is the spelling they use.  It is not a typographical error.

Since I hope to have all good information put here - online - rather than on my computer, I will add a few records.  Normally, I would say just write to me for more information, but I will no longer have it available to me except as I have posted it on this blog.  So, here goes.

ᕗ I had never seen the name Adalaska before so, of course, I had to find out how the family came by such an unusual name for a child.  The Indiana State University Digital Library Program lists this volume:

Adalaska, or, The Strange and Mysterious Family of the Cave of Genreva,
by George W L Bickley, published 1853, Cincinnati: H M Rulison.

Adalaska Eggleston was born 1855, two years after publication of the volume, and I guess someone in the family had read it.
