The Strosnider Family, part 3

This photograph of Wesley Strosnider is later than the one in my earlier post - the wedding picture of Eliza and Wesley.  Eliza died in 1905, in Blackburn, Pawnee Co, Oklahoma Territory.

This photograph is marked with the photographer's name - R B Cooper, Blackburn, Oklahoma.  I would guess, then, that the photo is after November 1907 when Oklahoma was no longer a territory.

Alta and Oatis Berry, Everett and Flora Berry, (unknown woman)
Woodward, Oklahoma, 1940s

ᕗ  I don't remember if this article is from a county book or is one posted by Merrie and created by her.  There are articles for other family members, both Strosnider and Berry.  Everett and Flora Berry and Oatis and Alta Berry visited back and forth from northeastern Kansas to mid-central Oklahoma.  I have photographs of them in both places.

*OUR HERITAGE      Berry - Strosnider
Everett Berry and his mother, brother Oatis and two sisters, Viola and Eliza came from Ohio, with a few years' stop in Iowa, to Kansas in 1892, and first made their home south of Havensville. Later they moved to the Avoca neighborhood. While farming there, Everett married Florence Strosnider and their son Ira was born there.  In 1907, they built a house on their farm five and one half miles south of Havensville where they lived out their lives. They lived to celebrate fifty-six years of marriage. Everett died in 1955 and Florence in 1956.
Israel Strosnider and his wife Catherine came from West Virginia in 1881 and settled five miles south of Havensville. Israel was a Civil War veteran and his health was impaired as a result of injuries. Israel was active in community affairs, serving in township offices for many terms. Their children were: Helen, John, Wesley, Florence, Frank and Luther.
Their eldest child, Helen married Adam Geyer, they built a new house which was their home the rest of their days, in the neighborhood. They had three children: Alice who never married; William married Ella Brunner; Fred who married May Perry and they had one daughter. She married Robert Davies and they live in Indiana and have four children: Kathleen, Daniel, Joel and John.
John Strosnider became a lawyer, married Myrtle Franklin, practiced law and was county attorney in Oklahoma. They had one daughter, Ruth.
Wesley (Dock) went to Oklahoma where he married and raised Catherine, Alice, Edna, Grace, Julia and John.
Florence married Everett Berry, they had one son Ira.
After Israel's death in 1906, Frank made a home for his mother for many years. He married Mary Pinick and later moved to her parents' home near Onaga.
Luther married Zilda Ewing, lived on the home place and they had two daughters, Lucille and Hazel.
Ira Berry married Lola Reed in 1925 and they continued on his father's farm.  Ira died in 1966 and Lola remained on the farm for ten years, which her daughter Ruby and her husband, Gary Tannahill have operated. Gary and Ruby have six children: Betty, Larry, John, Martin, Roberta and Barbara. Roy, son of Ira and Lola, entered the teaching profession. After two years of service in the Korean War, Roy married Marty Mitchell and they live at Winthrop Harbor, Illinois. They have six children: Jane, Judy, Edward, David, Susan and Carol.
